July 2016 Newsletter

July 2016 Newsletter

Tonkawa District is moving into July with a great summer already started!  We had a great Twilight Camp where more than 60 kids had fun doing Scouting activities and learning more about the outdoors and how they can grow with Scouts.

Summer is Here and hopefully your Units have had some fun over the summer at some of our great Summer camps or are planning to go and experience the outdoors! Check the website for calendars and information you will need to have when you go into your planning sessions for the upcoming year.

It's time to start getting ready for the 2016 popcorn sale.  We have some new products this year that we are very excited about.  There are some new flavors, new packaging, and incentives for participating in this year's sale.  So, get your unit's popcorn kernel to go online to Campmaster and sign up for this year's sale. You will also find important upcoming dates and resources to make your unit's 2016 popcorn sale a success.  Go online today and sign your unit up to stay informed about the sale. www.circle10.org/popcorn.  If you have any questions, please contact the Tonkawa District Popcorn Kernel, Tim Adams at timothy.m.adams@gmail.com

Roundtables will resume on August 11th at the LDS Church at 5309 Utah St, Greenville, TX, 75401.  Please come so that you can learn more about starting your unit up again and getting all your boys back involved again.  We have some great programming schedules to help get your leaders and youth fired up for a great Fall season of Scouting!

Our recruiting season is approaching again, so be prepared to meet with your District Executive, Forrest Hallstrom, to discuss how to get new boys involved in Scouting and how you can make those boys and their parents feel welcome.

Our volunteers have been working hard to make our program successful!  Tonkawa District and it's DE, Forrest Hallstrom, would like to extend a huge Thank You and a Four Square How cheer to our Popcorn Kernel, Tim Adams, our Day Camp Chair, Heather Horton, and our Day Camp Manager, Tabatha Luallen.  We would also like to thank our stellar Day Camp volunteers who made the camp possible for our boys and their families: Pam and Steven Dennison, Joanna Daniels, the Morgan family, Amber Taylor, Tim Adams, Bruce Waid, and Kimberly and Timothy.  They all helped to make our camp possible and fun!
